Outstanding Education, Health and Care Plans - Find a freedom of information request

Request

1) Can you tell me how many education, health and care plans (EHCPs) you currently have outstanding, and of those how many have passed the 20 week mark since the request and are overdue for a response?

We are being told by parents that there are long delays obtaining an EHCP, by this I mean it is taking over 20 weeks from the request being made. So can you please give me the figures on how many EHCP requests you have had in 2022 and 2023 (figures for each year would actually be more useful), and then of these:

How many of these are yet to be decided more than 20 weeks since the request was first made

How many of those already finalised took longer than 20 weeks to be finalised

Decision

1. As of 13th September, there were 420 cases going through the EHC process. This changes from day to day as requests come in or Plans are finalised. The current weekly average for completion of assessments within the 20-week timescale is 92%. There can be exceptional reasons for not completing within 20 weeks and we work with families throughout. At each key stage of development families are provided with an update therefore there is no case 'overdue a response'.
