The correspondence between the CEGB and the county surveyor in the National Archives Kew - Find a freedom of information request

Request

I have been to the archives today 5/10/2023 to look at the highway committee minute, after discovering the correspondence between the CEGB and the county surveyor in the National Archives Kew.

1) They are for copy of the missing pages concerning the strengthening of the Highway from Crowle Wharf to Chapel Lane Keadby because the bridges over the Stainforth and Keadby canal at Keadby Wharf and Keadby middle common and had a 5 ton weight limit.

This record should have been available as a court cannot make a correct decision without full record of the facts.

2) The other thing that has come out of this conversation is the Photographing by a microfische camera. and copies of the Boothferry Borough Council planning plans Microfiche in colour

3) Why is there no camera stand and no scanner in for public use.

Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

1) The document reference LA/CC 31015 /11-15 for Lindsey Highway committee books minute books covering 1937-1958 and the document LA/CC 31015/13 for the minute book covering 1948 are available to view in full, as original documents via the Lincolnshire Archives search room.

To book a visit to view this material please see the following information: https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/history-heritage/lincolnshire-archives/3

If you require copies of the documents you can purchase a search room camera pass for a small fee. This will enable you to take photographs yourself in the search room of the pages you require. The cost for a one day camera pass is £12.90.

2) In relation to scanning equipment, to ensure we continue to meet customer needs, Lincolnshire Archives continually reviews the equipment it provides to customers using our search room.

However, we are not aware of any previous requests to provide a camera stand. Should there become a demonstrable need from several users, then we will consider purchasing one when funding becomes available. With regards to a scanner, we are not able to provide one within the search room itself for public use, and instead offer a reprographics service for the purchase of high resolution digital images. I understand you are already (separate to your EIR request) in dialogue in relation to this service and copies can be ordered utilising the reprographics order form provided to you within that trail of correspondence.

3) Please note that in relation to your comment regarding 'copies of the Boothferry Borough Council planning plans Microfiche in colour' We have been unable to locate any relevant records at Lincolnshire Archives based on the description you have provided within your request
