1. Do you carry out a full Disability Related Expenditure (DRE) assessment for all clients in receipt of DRE?

 

2. Do you offer standardised allowances or bands for DRE?

If so, how much is this or what are these bandings and what are the criteria for these?

 

3. When DRE assessments are required, who completes these?

I.e. are these completed within the Financial Assessment team, Care Management team, a specific DRE team or someone else?

 

4. Do you have a DRE policy that is available to the public?

If so, please could you provide a link.

 

5. Do you offer clients a list/examples of what can be considered as DRE?

If so, are you able to share this.

1. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) apply standard banding for DRE unless requested otherwise.

Banded DRE

Lincolnshire County Council operate a banded DRE system where a person will be automatically allocated a weekly allowance which is dependent on the benefits, they can claim due to their disability, as shown below: DRE

3. Financial Support Officers. Within the Financial Assessment Team.

 

The practitioner is expected to have a discussion with the person about Disability Related Expenditure to support in determining if there are additional costs to be accounted for which will exceed the banded allowance they are likely to receive. They will then advise or assist that person to make an itemised DRE request where appropriate. This element of the assessment (to determine DRE amount) is completed by the Finance Assessor.

5. LCC refer to the Annual Statement and its DRE appeal letter has these listed as well as space for any other DREs that are wished to be considered, copy attached.
