Request

North Willingham LN8 3RN

1. Is there an update please on the progression of the TRO since you email of the 11 November 2024.

2. What is the timescale and process for the approved 40MPH speed limit going to committee and public consultation, as we would like to understand the process and timescale.

3. Where will the public consultation be advertised?

Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC). I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

1. There has been no further progress on the TRO

2. Once we have identified where the terminal signs for a new speed limit can be accommodated at the junction of B1225 High Street and the A631 we can then confirm the extents of the limit to be subject to the statutory consultation process for the order. Following statutory consultation the scheme will be publicly advertised for 28 days.

If no objections are received to the proposals a works instruction will be issued to our contractor to install the necessary signage and we will advertise that the order will be made operative on a given date to tie in with the completion of the signage works, after which the limit will be enforceable.

If objections are received a report will be submitted to the Council’s Planning & Regulation Committee with a recommendation that these are overruled. If they are overruled then the order can be made operative and the works requested as described above.

If objections are upheld then the scheme may be amended or abandoned, depending on the nature of the objections. This process will take approximately 4-5 months, from the start of statutory consultation to the order being made operative. In the event of objections being received, a further 2-3 months will be required to deal with these.

3. The consultation will be advertised in local and national press as well as on the LCC website and on notices on site.
