Children's Services Department Adults Assessed Claiming to be Children - Find a freedom of information request

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I would be grateful if you could please provide the following information:



1) In the calendar year of 2024 (January to December), how many individuals claiming to be children (aged under 18) were referred to your children's services department having previously been assessed to be an adult by the Home Office and placed in adult asylum accommodation or detention?



2) Of those referred, how many were subsequently accepted as, or assessed to be, under 18 by your children's services department?

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.  
 
 

1. In 2024 we had 34 referrals to the adult asylum accommodation.

2. 31 of those Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) accepted, or age assessed as being under 18 and therefore accommodated into LCC’s care.
