I am requesting information on the lighting classification applied to footways and cycleways in your administrative area.
Could you please provide:
1) The lighting classes (eg P1, P2, P3, C4, etc.) used for footways within your administrative area, specifying if these differ for:
- Primary footways (high-footfall areas such as city centres, high streets, or transport hubs).
- Secondary footways (medium footfall, e.g. residential and suburban streets).
- Tertiary footways (low footfall areas such as cul-de-sacs, alleyways, or rural paths).
2) The lighting class used for cycleways, particularly where they are:
- Dedicated cycleways (physically separated from roads and footways).
- Shared footway/cycleway routes.
3) If different lighting classes are applied depending on location (urban vs rural), please provide a breakdown.
4) Any internal policies, guidance, or strategy documents that define or inform how lighting classes are selected for footways and cycleways. - Decision
