Referrals to LADO over Harmful Behaviour - Find a freedom of information request

I am writing to request the following under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:

 

1           The number of referrals to the Local Authority Designated Officer for the financial years from 2010 to 2015 and 2019 to 2024 where a person who works with children is alleged to have behaved in a way that has harmed or may have harmed a child in

a nursery setting.

 

2          The number of referrals for the financial years from 2010 to 2015 and 2019 to 2024 where a person who works with children is alleged to have possibly committed a criminal offence against or related to a child in

a nursery setting.

 

3          The number of occasions during the financial years from 2010 to 2015 and 2019 to 2024  where the police, children's social care or other authorities have been notified as a result of a referral to the LADO about care in a nursery setting.
 

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.  
 
1. 2010-2015 number of referrals is 67. 2019 to 2024 is 135. Records prior to 2016 are not as robust as Lincolnshire County Council would like, so may not be totally accurate.

2. Under the National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS) almost everything that is referred to LADO is a potential crime, so it would not be for LADO to determine that. Every referral would have to be looked at to ascertain if the matter was referred to the Police and whether they investigated the matter.

3. As with Q2 LCC do not collate this in a form that we can report on. It is a case by case decision depending on the issues and we would have to look through all 202 records to ascertain if Police, social care or other authorities have been notified.
Q2 and 3 combined would be over 18 hours of work.
