Pupils coming into school with a knife or other sharp implement 2021-2025 - Find a freedom of information request

I am writing with a request under the Freedom of Information Act. Specifically, I would like to ask the following:

1) In the financial years 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024 and 2024/2025, how many instances of a pupil coming into school with a knife or other sharp implement have been recorded at your school? (If you are a local authority/academy trust, please adjust this request for all schools in your jurisdiction.)

2) In the financial years 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024 and 2024/2025, how many pupils at your school have been suspended or expelled for the possession of a knife or other sharp implement at school? (If you are a local authority/academy trust, please adjust this request for all schools in your jurisdiction.)

3) In the financial years 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024 and 2024/2025, how many instances have there been of a pupil or member of staff being injured as a result of a wound inflicted by a knife/sharp implement? (If you are a local authority/academy trust, please adjust this request for all schools in your jurisdiction.)

1. The Local Authority does not gather data around the number of instances a pupil goes into school with a knife or sharp implement.

2. Instances of suspensions or permanent exclusions being the result of knives and other bladed articles being brought into schools are not recorded separately, and would be recorded as ‘offensive weapons’ alongside other items. These figures are for all suspensions or permanent exclusions involving all such offensive weapons.

3. The Local Authority does not gather data around the number of instances a pupil or member of staff has been injured as a result of a wound inflicted by a knife/sharp implement.
