Child Sexual Exploitation - Stay Safe Partnership

Outcomes

The workshop will enable students to:

  • Understand what Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) is and who can exploit a child
  • To signpost students to where they can get support and what signs to look out for in their peers
Service Description

KS3 Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) is a workshop for students to engage and be aware of child sexual exploitation.

In response to the Everyone’s Invited survey and the Ofsted review of sexual abuse in schools, Lincolnshire Police have appointed a violence against women and girls (VAWG) youth engagement co-ordinator to address these issues through PSHE focused workshops.

This workshop:

  • Explores scenarios to decide if CSE is happening
  • Explores what is Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
  • Uses true and false activities to explore facts and myths
  • Explores statistics around CSE
  • Discusses how to keep yourself safe through exploring rights and choices

There is a focus on how to keep yourself safe and recognise the warning signs for both them and others to report CSE.

It will be offered to KS3 students across Lincolnshire. Workshops are suitable to be taught in groups of up to approximately 30 children, however smaller groups can also be facilitated. Each session will run for 60 minutes. During these workshops, students will be delivered by experienced trainers from Lincolnshire Police’s Youth Engagement Coordinators team in an age appropriate, fair and inclusive manner.
