Decision

 1. Due to the way the service is funded, Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) allocates both capital and revenue funds to sign maintenance and improvement. Where reactive maintenance has been undertaken following an inspection or enquiry from a member of the public, the table below identifies the amount spent per road classification. In addition to this a further cica £200,000 per year is spent on improvement across the road categories. All responses relate to financial years and go back to 2020 when our asset management system was updated.

2. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) are unable to split enquires from the public into road categories. The numbers below are all enquiries with a subject of ‘signs’ contained within our system.

3. The details below are the numbers of reactive jobs which have been raised from an enquiry. All our enquiries are considered resolved, though this might not have equated in a job being issued as there a number of outcomes which are possible. There is no way to ascertain the number of enquiries which are related to a single job as there is no direct relationship between the enquiries and jobs.

4.Unfortunately due to the nature of Lincolnshire County Council’s (LCC’S) asset record with relation to traffic signs, we are unable to calculate the interval between maintenance.

5. The hierarchies and inspection frequencies are detailed in our Highway Infrastructure Asset Management Plan. Link below and extract showing inspection frequencies pasted below.
Signs are inspected as part of the safety and service inspections.
