Reported incidents of pothole damage to light commercial vehicle’s, vans and cars - Find a freedom of information request

I am requesting a breakdown of the number of reported incidences to your local authority of pothole damage to (1) Light commercial vehicle’s (LCVs) and vans between 3,000 and 3,500kg and (2) cars that required repairs in 2024, and a breakdown of the total costs of

the repairs by vehicle type in 2024.

In particular, can you provide me with:  

1) The total number of reported incidences of pothole damage to LCVs and vans between 3,000 and 3,500kg in 2024, that required vehicle repairs.

2) The total number of reported incidences of pothole damage to cars in 2024, that required vehicle repairs.

3) The total costs of repairs reported as a result of pothole damage to LCVs and vans between 3,000 and 3,500kg in 2024.

4) The total costs of repairs reported as a result of pothole damage to cars in 2024. 

1. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) do not hold details of the weight of vehicles for claim purposes. Only LGV and Van.

The total number of incidents for LGV in 2024 is two and for Van's there were 18.

2. There were 1511 claims for damage to their vehicles.

4. As of 25th April 2025, the total reported value of claims submitted to Lincolnshire County Council for damage to cars in 2024 was £1,011,792.02, of which £58,322.34 has been paid for damage caused to cars.
