1) I am preparing a Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) and it requires the illustration of the locations of the nearest hydrant(s) to the site.
a) please would you provide information of the closest hydrants to the following site: Four Acre Farm, South Fen Road, Bourne, Lincolnshire, PE10 0DL
2.a) Please would you also confirm if the hydrants are in accordance with BS750 and are able to deliver a flow rate of 2,000 litres per minute.
b) In the event of an emergency would the water from the river / dock be able to be utilised? - Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.
1. The nearest hydrant we are responsible for is at the address, is Outside Frontier Agricultural, South Fen Road, Bourne - W3W ///acclaim.jump.clays unfortunately due to copy right restricts I cannot send you an illustrations, but I have added the rough location on the google maps photo attached.

2a) All hydrants are currently tested to ensure they provide emergency water supply for firefighting, flow rates around the county are variable and can’t be guaranteed.
The main size for your nearest hydrant is 90mm and has been tested on 19/05/25 Flow rates from hydrants are not currently measured in Lincolnshire
b) The fire services act 2004 section 42 allows the following:
The Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 (applicable in England and Wales) provides legal authority for fire and rescue authorities to access water supplies for firefighting, including emergency water sources.
Relevant Section:
The key provision is Section 42 – Supply of Water for Firefighting.
Here's the critical part: Section 42 – Supply of water for firefighting
(1) A fire and rescue authority may take any water which is available for use for firefighting purposes.
(2) A fire and rescue authority may use a hydrant or other source of supply for the purposes of— •obtaining water for firefighting, or •training or testing equipment, even if the supply is not owned by the authority.
(3) The authority must pay reasonable compensation for water taken unless otherwise agreed.
