Parking land at the east coast, The North Sea Observatory - Find a freedom of information request

Request

1) I would like to enquire who owns the piece of parking land at the east coast; The North Sea Observatory please?

2) And is there any Council governance or oversight for how that parking land is operated?

3) Also, under the freedom of information act; could I please get the information for how many parking penalty fines have been issued for parking at that site, during the displayed 'Free Parking' period between 6pm and 10pm. ?

4) I understand that the responsibility for operating and issuing the penalty fines has been given to a private entity in London, called; Wise Parking

But - could you tell me if anyone or any department within Lincolnshire Council actually overseas the way that this company are operating and issuing fines?

Decision

1. We can confirm that the land is not owned or maintained by Lincolnshire County Council. The land is owned and operated by Chapel St Leonards Parish Council.

2. As the Council do not own or maintain the land as above, they have no oversight for how the parking is operated.

3. Not known as this is a private car park.

4. See the answer to Question 2 – the Council do not oversee this company or how it is run.  The car park is operated by a private company.  You can contact the British Parking Association for further information.
