Understanding Lincolnshire County Council’s (LCC) approach to their handling of claims by members of the public for damage caused by the state of many Lincolnshire Roads and the outcome of these claims.
1) How many formal written claims have been submitted to the County Council over the last twelve months for damage caused to motor vehicles hitting potholes.
2) How many of these were initially rejected by LCC before being taken to small claims court.
3) How many claimants then submitted claims to the small claim’s courts following rejection by Lincolnshire County Council.
4) How many claims these were then deemed correct by the Judges of the Small Claims Court and claimants received recompense for damage caused to their vehicles.

In the last 12 months, the Council has received 818 claims (this figure includes claims that are still ongoing). 660 of these claims have been rejected by Lincolnshire County Council and seven of those rejected claims were submitted to the Small Claims Court. None of the seven claims submitted to the Small Claims Court have been deemed to be correct by the Judges of the Small Claims Court.
