Decision
  1. Confirmed that Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) does not offer any support, and therefore there is no funding given to, adult asylum seekers or illegal migrants

Unaccompanied Children who come into the care of the Local Authority are afforded Child in Care status. This means they are legally recognised as being looked after by the Local Authority, with responsibilities for their welfare and development and the same rights as any other child in care.

At the age of 18, these young people leave care and become eligible for support through the Leaving Care Service, which can continue to provide assistance up to the age of 25, depending on their individual circumstances and needs. Information about their rights and entitlement can be found here https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/homepage/198/leaving-care-service

2. The Council has not spent any Lincolnshire County Council funds on these children in care or care leavers. The care and support is fully funded by the Home Office.
