Anonymised Data on Household Fires

1) Under the Freedom of Information Act, please provide anonymised data on household/dwelling fires your service attended:

Timeframe: 1 Jan 2023-present. If not available, the two most recent full calendar years.



Data requested:

a) Date of incident (Month or Year if can't provide full date)

b) General location (non-identifying)

c) Cause/source of ignition (as detailed as recorded, e.g. appliance type, product, smoking materials, vape, etc.)

d) Item first ignited

e) Casualties/fatalities (numbers only)



2) If you don't hold specific product/appliance details, please split by category type.



Format: Please supply in CSV or XLSX, including code descriptions if coded.





If providing incident-level data would exceed the cost limit, please supply aggregated counts by month × cause/appliance × local authority instead, and advise what narrower scope is possible.

The information contains all Dwelling Fires between January 2023 and June 2025, with month and year of incident, anonymised easting/northing, anonymised incident number, count of fatalities and Injuries, cause of fire and recorded details, including item first ignited.
