I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.
1a. Yes, support is clearly mentioned in Lincolnshire County Council’s EHE communications. The Home Education Handbook for Parents states that Lincolnshire is “committed to supporting all families,” including those new to EHE and those already home educating. The handbook offers information, advice and guidance and was co-developed with input from home educating parents. Our webpage also confirms that the EHE team will contact families to discuss their plans and provide guidance, especially if the child is new to the area or has never attended school.
b. Support is provided in both written and verbal forms:
c. Written: The EHE Protocol and Parent Handbook are formal documents outlining support, responsibilities, and guidance.
Our website includes downloadable resources and contact details for the EHE team. We can also send families an extensive list of educational resources to help aid them with the home education for their child and offer advice on exams should their child be of age.
On the EHE Stage 1 form there is also an offer for an ‘Early Help Assessment’ should parents which to request it “Do you think an early help assessment would be useful to support your child's need?”
Verbal: The EHE team initiates contact with families to discuss their education plans. Parents are encouraged to contact the team via phone or email for advice and support. d. Families are offered advice and guidance in relation to connecting to services, such as health, exam settings and what to expect from the Local Authority, in respect of the elective home education process.
When a parent opts to withdraw their child to home educate the parent is responsible for the financing of their child’s education.
2. a. As above b.
