Adoption disruptions

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request information about adoptions in your local authority area.

Please provide answers to the following questions broken down into age groups:

(If the information is not recorded in these age groups, please provide the information per age year, for example: under 1 years; 2 years; 3 years etc)

- Under 1

- 1-4 years

- 5-9 years

- 10-15 years

- 16 years +

Please provide the information by month for the last full 5 years.

(If the data cannot be provided by month please preferable provide it by calendar year or if not, by financial year.)

Question 1:

Using Looked After Children Census data, how many adoption disruptions (ie pre-Adoption Order) have been registered in your local authority area?

Question 2

a) How many adoption breakdowns (ie post-Adoption Order) are you aware of in your local authority area?

b) Do you record these figures as a matter of course?

c) Over what time period are the number of breakdowns recorded? (e.g. 5/10/15 years post adoption)

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

1. In the last 5 years Lincolnshire County Council had had 3 children who experienced a disruption pre adoption order being made. Two were in the 5-9 year category, one was in the 1-4 years category.

2. Statistics on post order breakdowns are not gathered by the government, and are sometimes difficult to collate due to a range of factors. Therefore exact figures can not be provided
