Request

I am writing to make a formal request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for information regarding the issuing of Blue Badges within your Council. Specifically, I kindly request the following information:



1. Number of Blue Badges currently held (as of the date of this email)



2. Number of Blue Badge applications received since September 1st 2024



3. Number and percentage of successful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2024



4. Of these, the number and percentage of applications which were successful under the Hidden Disability criteria



5. Number and percentage of unsuccessful Blue Badge applications since September 1st 2024



6. Of these, the number and percentage of applicants appealing the decision and the number and percentage of applicants who were successful in their appeal

Decision

1. As at 31/08/2025 = 58,319 in total

 

2. For the period 01/09/2024 to 31/08/2025 = 23,838 in total

 

3. For the period 01/09/2024 to 31/08/2025 = 21,367 in total  (89.63%)

 

4. For the period 01/09/2024 to 31/08/2025 = 976 in total (4.57%)

 

5. For the period 01/09/2024 to 31/08/2025 = 1087 in total (4.56%)

 

6. For the period 01/09/2024 to 31/08/2025 = 22 in total (0.09%) appealed the decision and 16 in total were successful in their appeal (72.73%)
