1. Cost of Special Education Needs (SEN) Caseworker putting together an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
2. Cost of sending requests to schools the Local Authority (LA) has absolutely no intention of funding.
3. Cost of an appeal, including SEN caseworker hours preparing paperwork, attendance at meeting.
4. Cost of combined salary of panel.
5. Cost of admin to organise appeal, booking of room etc.
6. cost of then going on to tribunal.
7. Cost of providing the panel with legal aid, which puts the parents and child's needs secondary to saving LA money.
8. What happens to the funding given to a school when the child is unable to access the school and therefore, the money is not being spent on the child?
9. Who checks on the school funding allocation, given our school claiming they can meet need, use 1:1's as general Teaching Assistants (TA's) in classrooms the money the child is allocated to is not in?
10. What happens to the funding that the school does not use on the child? Do they just keep it and therefore, it is clearly a financial incentive to keep children when you can't actually meet their need.
