In Year Applications Received for State-Funded Schools

In-Year Admissions

1. Total number of in-year applications received for state-funded schools within your area (maintained schools and academies).

2. Number of refusals for in-year applications.

3. For in-year refusals, provide counts by recorded reason category (if possible, map to: a) prejudice to the efficient provision of education or use of resources, or b) challenging behaviour).

4. Please provide the name of the school that refused the most pupils, and provide the number



Fair Access Panels (FAP)

5. Number of in-year refusals subsequently referred to FAP.

6. Total number of FAP referrals received (all eligibility categories combined; include category breakdown if held).

7. Number placed in a school following FAP each year, and number not placed (e.g., withdrawn, moved out of area, pending at year-end).

8. For referrals resulting in admission, average and longest time from referral receipt to pupil's first attendance/start date.

9. Any cases where a school contested or failed to comply with a FAP placement, including recorded reasons.

10. Number of cases where the council issued a direction to admit (maintained schools) or requested a direction from the Secretary of State (academies), with outcomes.

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. 

1. This data is provided in the spreadsheet attached. Please note that an application is counted per preference, so a parent applying for 3 schools shows 3 times in the data. Schools can accept applications directly - the information is only those who applied through the LA, so the figure could be higher.

2. The data provided includes the number of times a school refused through LCC based on prejudice and challenging behaviour. We do not hold a comprehensive data set for this data, as some applications are made directly to schools and offered from a reserve list so show as refusals which would later have been offered.

3. This data is provided in the table.

4. This data is not held without checking every application manually, as there is no way to run offer status data with the school information attached. For 11,000 applications this would exceed 16 hours.

5. This data is included in the table.

6. This is included with category breakdown.

7. This is included, however reason for withdrawal is not recorded.

8.  We do not hold this data as date of attendance is not held by the LA.

9. There are no cases where a school have refused to comply with a FAP placement and the pupil has still required the place through FAP. We do not record cases where the school contests the case - only the end decision is recorded.
