The backlog of EHCP's within the authority

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information regarding the backlog of EHCP's within your authority:

1. The total number of plans currently outstanding and yet to be written as of 26.9.25

2. The total number of plans in the backlog (i.e., those that have exceeded statutory or internal deadlines, please identify the amount

of plans waiting to be written that have EP advice ready, and those still awaiting this advice).

3. Whether your authority has outsourced or is considering outsourcing the writing of these plans.

4. Whether your authority hires agency workers or external contractors to support the completion of plans.

5. If agency or external plan writers are used, how many have been engaged in the past 12 months and at what cost?

6. How many EHCNA requests you received in 2024, and how many were 'Yes to Plan' decisions. 

1. Assessment tracker reports 65 cases at the plan stage i.e.they have had an agreement to issue a plan following assessment and are now in the draft / final plan stage of the EHCP process

2. Of those 65, 13 are currently overdue i.e. over 20 weeks from request date.

3. No the authority has not outsourced or is considering outsourcing the writing of these plans

4. The authority does not hire agency workers or external contractors to support the completion of plans following an EHC Needs Assessment.

6. 1938 requests processes with 1155 receiving a ‘yes to assess’ decision at 6-week panel throughout 2024
