Road Traffic Incidents in Lincolnshire 2024 and 2025

1. I am trying to find data for Road Traffic Incidents in Lincolnshire, specifically relating to cyclist injury (by severity) and death, by place/area of the county. Can you provide this please, for 2024 and 2025 to date?

Honestly I'm surprised this isn't simply published monthly along with all the road traffic incidents as a major piece of ongoing public information on your website. Especially given the high rate of incidents in Lincolnshire - perhaps people would be more aware and careful if it was ongoing front page headline data. Once set up it would be an ongoing automatic update .

2. Can you explain why you don't do this? To print it monthly really should be an important policy. It shouldn't be a IA enquiry, it should be there on your landing page.

3. Who do I contact to raise this?

I'd also like to find out how to get a road speed limit reduced. The road between Tetney, Tetney Lock and North Cotes needs to be 40mph. I have been driving it all my life, it should never have been National Speed Limit. It's another incident (2 people recently died in the water coming off the road) waiting to happen at the current national speed limit. The appalling state of the road, the rural nature of the area, the bends, the heavy-duty farm traffic, pedestrians, cyclists and the wildlife are all factors. Lincolnshire County Council could do a lot of good by reducing speed limits across the county - the psychological impact of having to go at 40 or 50 rather than frustratingly not being able to go at 60 and then taking risks, would be huge. It would make little difference to journey times and a massive difference to safety.

3 and 4. Please contact your local county councillor with regard to your request for a review of the speed limit between Tetney Lock and North Cotes. They can then allocate your request to the Traffic Team for an assessment against speed limit policy criteria.
