Local authority-maintained school deficits

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request information held by the local authority.

Specifically, I would like to be sent:

1. The number of local authority-maintained schools in the local authority area with overall (rather than in-year) deficits. I would like the figures to be broken down by year, providing the figures for 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25

2. A table naming the schools with an overall deficit by the end of 2024-25, providing their URNs and their deficit

3. The council's scheme for financing schools shows the council charges interest on local authority-maintained school deficits. I would like to be told how many schools in deficit were charged interest in this way. I would like the figures to be broken down by year, providing the figures for 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25

4. I would also like to be told how much interest was paid to the local authority by schools in deficit in this way. Again, I would like the figures to be broken down by year, providing the figures for 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25
