English Speakers of Other Language courses

I wish to make a freedom of information request. Please provide the following information for the years 2018 to 2024 and, if possible as of June 2025:

1) The amount allocated by your local authority, whether from direct council budget or central government departments, on adult ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages)

2) The number of participants on ESOL courses in your local authority area.

1. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) delivers a wide range of learning programmes via the Adult Skills Fund which is funded by the Department for Education. In the academic year 2024/2025, ESOL provision accounted for approximately 5% of grant funding delivery.

2. LCC’s Adult Learning Service supports adults across Lincolnshire to access learning opportunities, of which ESOL is a small part.  In the academic year 2024/2025, we delivered learning to 6,236 individual learners of which learners on ESOL courses accounted for 6%.
