The nationality of teachers employed in state-funded schools

This is a formal request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I request that you provide the following data concerning the nationality of teachers employed in state-funded schools in England (including maintained schools and academies).

1. Please provide the total headcount of teachers in state-funded schools in your area for the Academic Year 2018/2019 or Calendar Year 2019, broken down by the teacher's nationality group (UK citizen, Non-UK citizen, or however your council records this). Please breakdown by state-funded primary, state-funded nursery, state-funded secondary and state-funded special or PRU. Please also provide the total headcount for comparison.

2. Please provide the total headcount of teachers in state-funded schools in your area for the Academic Year 2024/2025 or Calendar Year 2025, broken down by the teacher's nationality group . Please breakdown by state-funded primary, state-funded nursery, state-funded secondary and state-funded special or PRU. Please also provide the total headcount for comparison.

3. For the 2024/25 Academic Year or Calendar Year 2025, please break these down by individual nationality, for example Irish, Nigerian etc.
