Potholes Filled and Reported in Each Month 2021 to 2025

I'm writing to request some information about road maintenance under the Freedom of Information Act.

1) Please provide the number of potholes filled in each month from November 2021 to November 2025. These should be the same figures you use to compile the annual 'Potholes Repaired' numbers for the Local Highway Maintenance and Transparency Reports but broken down per month. Please add in information about whether the methodology for how you collect these figures has changed.



2) Please provide also the number of potholes reported (both by the public and by your own inspectors) in each month from November 2021 to November 2025.

Please add in information about whether the methodology for how you collect these figures changed at any point. Please provide such data in the format below, ideally as a spreadsheet.

1. In order to collate the data for the published Transparency Report, Lincolnshire County Council followed guidance provided by the Department for Transport, and other national and regional bodies, to reach an estimated number of potholes which have been repaired. The methodology to reach this figure involves making an assessment of the number of pothole repairs which have been carried out through a range of treatment types, including spray injection patching or works which have been delivered through other work gangs, as these are not directly recorded by our asset management system. The estimated number of potholes repaired are shown below:

2. The number of pothole enquiries are those which have been reported by the public through our customer management system. All other repairs are generated from our internal systems which include inspections, contractor identified repairs and reports from staff. However, as described above the total estimated number of potholes is an assessed figure and does not directly relate to the number of recorded reports. The number of pothole enquiries received are shown in table above.
