Recycling and Waste from 2018 to 2026

1. Recycling and waste - please provide the following information, for each financial year from 2018-2019 up to the first two quarters of 2025/2026 (up and including September 2025). If data is not available up until this date please provide the most recent available data and specify the period it applies for:

a. tonnage of household waste recycled under your waste disposal responsibilities

b. tonnage of collected household recycling rejected, split by how it was then processed (such as energy-from-waste / incineration, landfill)

c. tonnage of household material recycled within England

d. tonnage of household material recycled outside of England, split by material type if possible

e. tonnage of household recycling waste exported overseas split by how it will be processed (such as recycled or incinerated)

f. if available, please provide the tonnage of household recycling waste exported overseas split by how it will be processed and destination country.

If figures are not available in tonnage, please instead provide them in another available weight measure. If another weight measure is not available, please provide it in whatever measure is available.

See attached Sheet (Tab 1a) showing the tonnages of household waste recycled under our waste disposal responsibilities for the Financial Years 2015/2016 to 2024/2025 (data is not available beyond this date currently).                                                                                                                                                      

Data is split between 3 Waste Streams: 1a. Household Mixed Dry Recyclables, 1b. Household Paper and Card and 1c. Household Green.    

This is then split for each Waste Stream by Total Collected, Total Recycled and Total Rejected.     

Finally, 3c. Totals the combined Kerbside Mixed Dry Recyclables + Paper and Card + Household Green and again shows Total Collected, Total Recycled and Total Rejected.

All Rejected material processed as Energy-from-waste /SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel). See Answer to Q1a for tonnages: Total Recyclable Rejects.

All our Recyclable Materials are sent to reprocessing contractors within England, however for the periods requested we are unable to breakdown the tonnages by Material type or Destination due to the number of material types & volume of data to be analysed as the data is not held in this way. 

d. tonnage of household material recycled outside of England, split by material type if possible:
