Children and young people in Lincolnshire County Council's care

I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from your local authority regarding the children and young people in your care. Please could you provide the following data:

1) As a snapshot at 31 March 2025 (or whatever date is most practical), how many

a) children under the age of 18, and

b) young people aged between 18 and 24 (inclusive)

2) Fit into the following categories (please state for under the age of 18 and 18 to 24 inclusive for each category) a) EU national (except Irish citizens)

b) Unaccompanied asylum-seeking child (UASC)

c) Other non-British national

d) UASC

e) EU national

f) Other non-British national For the avoidance of doubt, definitions of the terms used are as follows:

* EU national: a citizen of the EU27 not including Ireland. It does not matter whether the individual has applied or been granted status under the EU settlement scheme.

* Unaccompanied asylum-seeking child: any child or young person who has applied for asylum in the UK. Please include those who have applied, who have been granted refugee status or humanitarian protection, and those who have been refused refugee status.

* Other non-British national: any child or young person who is not a British citizen - does not hold a British passport and is not entitled to one - who also does not fit into either of the categories above.
