I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

1-1d. Following on from the original request received by us on the 1st December 2025, clarification was sought from the requestor as to the scope of the request.

Clarification was received on 15th December 2025 advising that the scope of the enquiry relate to the Public Rights of Way (PRoW) on the private land immediately surrounding Well Hall (also known as Well Vale Hall) on the Well Estate, within the Parish of Well, Alford.

Specifically, the records concern alleged public access routes (and the private estate land - Well Estate - around them) involving:

Public Footpath No. 79 (Well)

Public Footpath No. 81 (Well)

2-2a. 6 documents containing PL/C/8/23 were located in the files. These have been included in the information supplied.

3. 2 documents containing Jas Martin or James Martin & Co were located in the files. These have been included in the information supplied.

4. 8 documents relating to County Secretary or other departments have been located and included in the information supplied. The Council has very limited records prior to 1978 for the parish of Well.

There are no files for the general parish file that correspond within the date range of 1955 and 1977 Some documents that fall within the scope of the enquiry are held within the parish files and the definitive map files relating to Well Public Footpath 79.
