Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide the following information concerning asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in all buildings for which your organisation is the dutyholder or responsible for maintenance.
1. Asbestos Presence Breakdown
Please provide a breakdown of the total number of buildings under your control that contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), categorised by building type as follows:
a) Educational Establishments: (e.g., schools, colleges, nurseries)
b) Health/Institutional Buildings: (e.g., hospitals, clinics, residential care homes)
c) Civic/Administrative Buildings: (e.g., council offices, town halls, depots, fire/police stations)
d) Leisure/Cultural Buildings: (e.g., leisure centres, libraries, community centres, museums)
e) All Other Public Buildings: (Any other type of building not covered above)
2. Management and Claims
a) For each category above, please provide the total number of buildings that have not had an updated independent audit of their Asbestos Management Plan in the last 3 years (i.e., since December 2022).
b) The number of reported incidents of potential or confirmed asbestos exposure in all buildings under your control between 2020 and the present date.
c) The number of current and former employees/users who have pursued a claim against your organisation for asbestos exposure in a building under your control.
d) The total amount of money paid in settlement of these claims (with or without acceptance of liability). - Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.
1:
Please provide a breakdown of the total number of buildings under your control that contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), categorised by building type as follows:
a) 101
b-e) 160
The response for b to e hasn’t been broken down into the 4 property types.
The two figures provides were for schools and all non-school properties
We are unable to breakdown the information further
2:
a) The condition of asbestos in All LCC properties is inspected by Vinci annually where applicable. LCC and Vinci staff also regularly audit asbestos management arrangements at each site. This does not always apply to vacant buildings and those on the disposal list, or those where major building projects are taking place.
b) None
c-d). Lincolnshire County Council have received one claim in relation to asbestos exposure within a building in the control of a Local Authority in last 3 years. This claim is still ongoing and so we are not able to release any further details in terms of the circumstances.
