Sick Days Recorded from Teachers in Schools 2020 to 2025

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information.

 

1) How many sick days were recorded from teachers in schools run by the local authority citing mental health as the reason for illness? Please can you show this figure as the total number of days and the number of teachers who were absent

from school because of a mental health related sick day for the following academic years:

a) 2020-21

b) 2021-22

c) 2022-23

d) 2023-24

e) 2024-25
 

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. 

In Academic Years:

1. 2020-2021 – Information Unavailable.
2. 2021-2022 – Information Unavailable.
3. 2022-2023 - Information Unavailable.
4. 2023-2024 – 84 Individuals and 3543 Days.
5. 2024-2025 – 75 Individuals and 2964 Days.

These figures are based on those schools that buy into the County council’s payroll arrangements and therefore use the Business World (BW) system for recording sickness absence.

Prior to the 2023/2024 academic year the figures would not be accurate due to the change in BW systems in April 2023.
