1) What procedures does Lincs Fire and Rescue have to battle Battery Energy Storage Systems (B.E.S.S) fires?

The Operational Information Note (OIN) is a regional document and is currently under review. This is only a guidance note so the incident commander will adapt their plan dependent circumstances. This is a developing area and whilst the OIN refers to fighting the fire with large amounts of water there is a move towards defensive firefighting with water only being used to cool the surrounding units and allowing the affected unit to burn. This would be an option for the incident commander to consider.
