Amount Paid in Remedies to Residents Following Complaints

1. I would like to know how much money the council paid in remedies to residents following complaints 



related to failures under the category of special educational needs and disabilities. 


I would like the information for the year 2025 to date January- December 1, compared with previous years 2024, 2023 and 2022.



 For each year, I would like to know the number of complaints that were made, where it was ruled the resident would be paid a remedy.

Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman SEND Referrals – agreed actions which

included a payment

2025 to date = 5 of 17 concluded complaints – no agreed payments (12 remain in progress)

2024/2025 = 11 concluded complaints - £4150 agreed payments against 3 of the 11

2023/2024 = 8 concluded complaints - £6050 agreed payments against 2 of the 8

2022/2023 = 12 concluded complaints - £7100 agreed payments against 4 of the 12
