Thankyou for the provided information of 28th August 2025. I am now advised to request further information pertinent to the claim under the Freedom of Information Act.
1) With regard to the inspection report of 15/04/2025, to which you have referred to previously, it is stated in the notes *PRIORITY - Cw sustaining multiple undulations in areas. Suggest full carriageway reconstruction needed. Can you define the exact meaning of this as to what is classed as an undulation by the assessor.
2) Could you please also advise of the number of claims that have been settled, during the 2024/25 period, without recourse to further action.
3) And, as a follow on to item (2) could you advise of the number of claims that have reached settlement after recourse to further action, and the cost to the Council when all charges are included.

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.
1. This means that at the time of the officer’s inspection it was noted that the carriageway surface along Allington Lane is uneven/sunken in several places and their recommendation to resolve this issue would be that the carriageway was reconstructed. Please note that uneven road surface signs have been placed out to make road users aware.
The officer would refer to a carriageway as undulated if there is many sunken/dipped area that go up and down, and isn’t a flat and smooth surface. Undulations can be caused my many factors for example type of traffic ie HGVS and agricultural vehicles/material issues/drainage.
2-3. The total number of claims that were issued into Court between January 2024 and July 2025 was 6.
Of those 6 claims, 2 were dismissed/struck out by the Court, 3 were settled during mediation, 1 is still in the Court system.
The total charges recorded for the 3 settled claims, which includes settlement costs and legal costs, is £6,507.09.
