RE: FOI 14229113
Where LCC says, "c) Oak House - LCC pays a service contribution to its landlord towards the maintenance of the bridge. There have been one or two other payments described below. No other regular payments have been made to the landlord as the Council's rent is a nominal 'peppercorn'"
1). Why does LCC only pay a 'peppercorn' rent?
2). Exactly how much has been paid in rent, each of these financial years, in rent for Oak House?
a) 2019-2020
b) 2020-2021
c) 2021-2022
d) 2022-2023
e) 2023-2024
f) 2024-2025 - Decision
-
1) Because in section 4.1 of the lease, it states “To pay the rent (if demanded) and the service charge”
2a-f) £0.00
The reason for the answer for question 2a – 2f is due to the fact, LCC have never had a demand for the peppercorn rent, so no rent has been paid
