Children's Services social worker workforce

Information regarding Children's Services social worker workforce.

Specifically, I would like to request the following information for the period 1 January

2025 to 31 December 2025:

1. The number of children's services social workers who left the council in 2025.

2. The number of children's services social workers who joined the council in 2025.

3. The total number of children's services social workers who worked for the council in 2025.

4. Please note I would like this information broken down by agency workers as well as direct/permanent employees.

For clarification, by 'social worker' I mean any role that has the responsibility of a social worker, these types of roles are:

(a) Advanced Practitioner

(b) Children's Social Work Manager

(c) Fostering Assessment Manager

(d) Fostering Social Worker

(e) Managing Practitioner

(f) Newly Qualified Social Worker

(g) Permanence Team Manager

(h) Senior Practitioner

(i) Social Worker

(j) Team Manager.

This is not an exhaustive list, if any other roles apply then please include them in the data you give me.

At least 8 of the agency leavers became LCC employees in the year.

While the agency starters and leavers matches the total agency figure they are not all the workers, some started and finished working for the Council in the year while some started before Jan 25 and remained after Dec 25.
