RE: Repairs carried out earlier this year on Hulls Drove (B1166) have failed already and long cracks have appeared.
There are still large sections of Hulls Drove that also require serious rectification.
When this road is closed, traffic is diverted via Falls, Cox's Drove and Dowsdale Bank. Some travel down Oxcroft Bank.
The first three attachments show the condition of Cox's Drove and the fourth Oxcroft Bank.
Q1) Apart from the obvious request as to when these roads will be fully repaired, as opposed to the poor standard macadam patches that have been made, a far more serious enquiry as follows.
Q2) Sheppard's Drove has one house on the corner of Falls Drove and another 200m further along. Leading to the (private?)road for Empsons Farm and Green Drove which has no houses.
a. So can someone explain why these two roads have been extensively repaired, admittedly to a good standard, the complete length?
b. Under the freedom of information process, how can I find out the justification for financing a hardly used highway over other roads which are becoming practically unpassable and dangerous.
c. Under the Freedom of Information act (2005), please publish the cost and justification for the work that has been completed on Sheppard's and Green Drove in 2025. - Decision

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.
Due to the prolonged dry weather this year, we have experienced a significant number of failures across Lincolnshire. I am aware of the situation on Hulls Drove, which we are monitoring and will arrange remedial repairs where necessary.
1. Coxs Drove is planned for a full resurfacing scheme in January 2026.
Dowsdale Bank has been identified for a a future scheme and is currently planned for 2026/2027 subject to available funding.
Oxcroft Bank currently has no identified programme year, but this will be reassessed following the recent drought period that has accelerated the failure of roads across Lincolnshire.
We will carry out safety repairs to ensure that all roads remain in a safer manner for road users until funding is allocated and available for resurfacing schemes.
2a. These roads were identified through inspections as needed resurfacing and prioritised in accordance with Lincolnshire Highways infrastructure asset management plan - Policies, strategies and plans
b. Lincolnshire’s Highways infrastructure asset management plan - Policies, strategies and plans detail how we allocated funding and priorities and can be found in the following link
https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/directory-record/61685/highways-infrastructure-asset-management-plan
c. The cost for resurfacing these two roads was £223k
