Who we are

The Adult Skills Programme is managed and provided by us and The Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority (GLCCA).

We are public authorities known as “Controllers” of the information that we collect about you.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration numbers Z8397628 and ZB884122. You can view the registrations on the Information Commissioner’s Office website.

Why we collect information about you

  • to enable us to manage the adult skills fund budget
  • to evaluate and assess your eligibility for funding
  • to enable you to enrol on a funded programme
  • to monitor equality of opportunity
  • to fulfil our statutory duties
  • to contact you for feedback and surveys
  • to promote new course offerings
What type of information we may collect
  • name, date of birth, gender, address and contact information
  • national insurance number
  • unique learner number
  • current qualifications held
  • employment status
  • first language
  • course details
  • financial information
  • learning support needs

We may also process some special category (sensitive) data such as:

  • race or ethnic origin
  • health data (disabilities and special educational needs)
Lawful bases for processing information about you

  • necessary to comply with a legal obligation
  • necessary to perform a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority
  • necessary for reasons of substantial public interest
  • consent for marketing (obtained via the enrolment form)
How we may collect your information
  • provided to us directly by you
  • provided by another organisation when you sign up to their courses that are funded by us
Who we may share your information with
  • ​​​​​organisations and professionals involved in the provision of services, such as learning providers
  • government agencies to meet funding arrangements, such as the department for education (dfe) and the department for work and pensions (dwp)
  • other organisations for purposes of administration and statistical and research purposes relating to education, training, employment and well-being

You may be contacted by research organisations after you have completed your programme of learning to establish whether you have entered employment or gone on to further learning, volunteering or education.

How long we hold your information for

We are required to retain your information for as long as is necessary, after which it will be securely destroyed.
