Potholes Repaired and Unrepaired

(1) In the 12 months leading up to 1 May 2025, how many potholes did your council repair?

(2) In the time period 2 May 2025 up to 20 March 2026, how many potholes did your council repair?

Please can you also provide - if you have the data - how many potholes remain unrepaired.

 

If it is not possible to provide the data on unrepaired potholes, please confine your response to the number of repairs. 

I can confirm that the information requested is held by Lincolnshire County Council. I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.

1. The number of pothole jobs completed between 1 May 2024 and 30 April 2025 = 30,811

A monthly breakdown is provided below:

The number of pothole jobs committed (sent to contractor) during this period and

remain unrepaired (as of 01.04.2026) = 0

2. The number of pothole jobs completed between 1 May 2025 and 20 March 2026 = 27,033

A monthly breakdown is provided below:

The number of pothole jobs committed (sent to contractor) during this period and

currently awaiting repair (as of 01.04.2026) = 4,790

Please note that we follow a risk-based approach, as set out in our Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan, which requires pothole repairs to be carried out at differing response times depending on the level of risk to the public. Please also note the number of pothole jobs completed stated above relates specifically to pothole jobs raised. However, this does not include additional potholes that may have been repaired through other works carried out by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) on the carriageways during each year, such as whole carriageway resurfacing, carriageway patching and other carriageway minor works.
