Decision

1) Works to cleanse and jet all gullies in the village were carried out in August 2023. These works identified that further action was required to clear the chambers. A follow-up job was raised to complete this, but it did not proceed.

When our contractor attended site, it was determined that the ditches needed to be excavated to allow access for cleaning the pipes before any further work could begin.

As you may be aware, responsibility for ditches (or dikes) can fall to the riparian owner, meaning their involvement may be necessary to carry out the required works. Due to this, and the scale of the work involved, it was agreed that the scheme couldn’t be progressed through our minor works programme and has since been put forward for a larger scheme by our Drainage Asset Team. At present, we’re unable to provide specific timescales, as works are prioritised alongside other drainage works across the county and depend on available resources each year.
