Please provide the following information:

1. Road repair history for the relevant section of Ermine Street between 1 November 2025 and 31 March 2026.

2. Dates of all safety inspections undertaken during the same period.

3. Dates and reasons for all ad hoc inspections carried out between 1 November 2025 and 31 March 2026.

4. Details of how both safety and ad hoc inspections were conducted, including:

a) whether inspections were walked or driven

b) the speed of any inspection vehicle

c) the number of officers in attendance

5. Details of all defects identified during these inspections, broken down by inspection type (safety vs ad hoc), including:

a) description of each defect

b) date and time identified

6. Information on how each defect was handled, including:

a) what repairs were undertaken and associated works order numbers

b) the time between defect identification and completion of repairs

7. Dates and times of all reports of defects or potholes received by the Council regarding this section of road between 1 November 2025 and 31 March 2026.

8. The number of compensation claims received relating to defects on this section of road during the same period, including dates.

Please provide the following information:


1-3 and 5-7. Please see attached street history reports.

4a) As per our inspection policy, the inspections at this location for part of a driven route-based inspection.

 

b) In order to balance the need to undertake a thorough inspection of the highway and manage the risks to the inspecting team and other road users due to unexpected speed differential, the surveys are carried out at 40mph.

 

c) In accordance with policy, inspections will generally be carried out alone, with two members of staff employed where the operation is more high risk, for example high-speed or busy roads. As such at the location in question it is usually undertaken with a driver and an inspector, although this is a preference not a requirement. 


8. There have been 3 claims for incidents between 1st November 2025 and 31st March 2026, of which one occurred on 30th December 2025, and two on 31st December 2025.
