Road infrastructure and parking

I would like to request the most recent available data, ideally for the 2024 calendar year (or the latest year held), relating to road infrastructure and parking within your local authority area.

Specifically, please provide the following as total counts for your local authority area:

1) The total number of bus lanes (defined as distinct designated bus lane sections)

2) The total number of roundabouts

3) The total number of traffic signals (traffic lights)

4) The total number of one-way roads

5) The total number of speed cameras and average speed enforcement cameras (excluding mobile units where not recorded)

6) Number of publicly accessible parking spaces managed by the local authority (including on-street and council-operated off-street parking)

The total number of disabled parking spaces within the above

Please provide these as single total figures wherever possible.



i) In addition, if available, please provide a breakdown of these figures for the area: Lincoln

ii) Where only current totals are held rather than year-specific data, please provide the most recent figures available.

iii) If exact figures are not held in this format, I would be grateful if you could provide the closest available equivalent data or reasonable estimates based on existing records.

iv) If your internal definitions differ from those above, please provide the data according to your standard classifications and include a brief note explaining how the figures are defined.

v) If any of this information is held by another organisation (e.g. police or a transport authority), I would appreciate it if you could advise or redirect this request where appropriate.

Attached (doc "Roundabouts 2026-04") is a list of roundabout assets the Authority holds, on which the total figures above are based.

This may not be an exhaustive list but captures those where a separate "asset" exists for the roundabout.

Roundabouts such as mini types, with painted or small raised middles, may not have an asset created for them.

These are Lincolnshire County Council maintained assets, any on private streets or National Highways network will not be listed.

Signal infrastructure is purchased in "aspects" and whilst red/amber/green is the norm (3 aspects) for a signal head, there are also left/right turn arrows etc, so the total number of "aspects" can't just be divided by 3.

6. Information not held in a number format. This could include significant lengths of unrestricted kerbside parking on the road network throughout the County.

Lincolnshire County Council does not operate any off-street parking areas. District Councils are responsible for this function.

At present, Lincolnshire County Council cannot provide an exact number of disabled parking spaces, as our mapping system has reporting limitations.

However, based on the information currently available, there are approximately 80 disabled parking spaces as of April 8 2026.
