Document Translation Services

Specifically, I am requesting the following information for the financial years 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25

 

1.  Document Translation Services

a)  The total expenditure incurred on document translation services (the written translation of documents, correspondence, forms, notices, reports or other written materials from one

language to another).

b)  The total number of separate suppliers or providers used to deliver document translation services.

 

2.  Interpreting Services

a)  The total expenditure incurred on interpreting services (spoken interpretation, including face-to-face, telephone, and video remote interpretation).

b)  The total number of separate suppliers or providers used to deliver interpreting services.

 

3.  AI Policy

a)  Whether your organisation has a formal policy, framework, guidance document, or decision that governs or permits the use of artificial intelligence or machine translation tools for

document translation purposes.

b)  Whether your organisation has a formal policy, framework, guidance document, or decision that governs or permits the use of artificial intelligence tools for interpreting purposes.

c) A copy of such a policy, where applicable.

1a) 2022/2023 – £59,479 through the primary contracted supplier, we do not hold the breakdown for what specific service is provided by secondary providers

2023/2024 – £46,376 through the primary contracted supplier, we do not hold the breakdown for what specific service is provided by secondary providers

2024/2025 – £44,221 through the primary contracted supplier, we do not hold the breakdown for what specific service is provided by secondary providers

b) Lincolnshire County Council have a primary contracted supplier. In 2022/23 and 2023/24 the primary contracted supplier was Dals (previously DA Languages). From 2024/25 to present day the primary contracted supplier is AA Global Language Services. Secondary suppliers may be used for document translation where the primary contracted supplier cannot fulfil the request. However, we do not hold the breakdown of services provided by secondary suppliers, so could not state who has been used for document translation services.

2023/2024 – £137,055 through the primary contracted supplier, we do not hold the breakdown for what specific service is provided by secondary providers

2024/2025 – £148,611 through the primary contracted supplier, we do not hold the breakdown for what specific service is provided by secondary providers
