Persistent absence among pupils resident in the authority area

Please provide the most recent available data held by the local authority on persistent absence among pupils resident in your authority area.

For each ethnic group for which the authority records attendance data, please provide:

1. The total number of pupils.

2. The number of pupils classified as persistently absent.

3. The persistent absence rate (if already calculated).

I am particularly interested in data relating to the following groups and would be grateful if these are included where recorded separately:

* Gypsy/Roma

* Irish Traveller

Please provide the information for the most recent academic year for which complete data are available.

If this information is already contained within an existing report, dashboard, spreadsheet, presentation, or briefing document, I would be grateful if you could provide the relevant document rather than creating a new dataset.

4) If available from existing reports without requiring additional analysis, please also provide separate figures for:

* Primary schools

* Secondary schools

Please find attached spreadsheet containing:

Numbers of pupils by ethnicity based on 2024-25 attendance data

Numbers of those pupils defined as persistently absent

Percentages of those pupils by ethnicity who are recorded as persistently absent

Further breakdowns of student cohort by child's phase of education

Low figures are considered exempt under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) where disclosure would allow the possibility of a living individual being identified. Lincolnshire County Council believes that providing this data could potentially lead to the identification of those children and that disclosure of and the potential risk to the rights of others that could result, would not provide any greater understanding of the subject matter.

We have therefore provided the response of ‘<5’ to provide insight without contravening Schedule 2 Part 3, Section 16 of the Data Protection Act 2018 relating to the protection of the rights of others. We rely upon Section 40(2) FOIA to withhold this information in this regard.
