Safety Inspection Records West Ashby

I would be grateful if you could provide copies of the following information relating to the pothole/defect on Main Street, West Ashby, which was reported on 9 February 2026 and subsequently assigned Works Order 5859674:



1) All safety inspection records, inspection reports, defect logs, photographs, notes and measurements relating to this section of carriageway for the 24 months prior to my incident.

2) Full details of all complaints, reports, notifications or enquiries received from members of the public, councillors, contractors or council employees regarding this defect, or defects in the immediate vicinity, during the 24 months prior to my incident.

3) The complete repair and maintenance history for this location for the 24 months prior to my incident, including details of all temporary and permanent repairs undertaken.

4) Copies of Works Order 5859674 and any associated records, including dates raised, inspection notes, risk assessments, photographs, job completion records and repair dates.

5) Details of the exact location, dimensions and categorisation of the defect as recorded by the Council.

6) Copies of the relevant highway inspection policy, defect intervention criteria and any risk-based maintenance policies applicable to Hierarchy 2 carriageways at the time of the incident.

7) Details of any previous claims, whether settled or denied, relating to the same defect or the same section of Main Street, West Ashby, during the previous 24 months.

8) Any records showing when the defect first came to the Council's attention.

I am requesting this information as I am considering issuing proceedings through the Small Claims Court and require these records to understand the Council's inspection and maintenance history for this location.
