NRSWA Coring Programmes

Please could you provide the following information relating to the below to questions with a yes or no,

 

1. Do you carry out NRSWA coring programmes?

2. If yes, do you excavate below the bound surface layers and carry out compliance checks on depths and material of the unbound base/subbase and backfill?

2. Ordinarily it is not part of the coring process; that is just a check of the depth and compaction of the bituminous layers.  There are occasions, however, where the road build has not been documented or observed by an LCC representative and we may then investigate the depth of subbase by hand digging through it once the core sample has been drilled. We can also do the same below the subbase layer and investigate any capping present.
