I would be grateful if you could provide the following information relating to children's residential placements commissioned by your local authority.

For the most recent complete financial year available (or the last 12 months if easier), please provide:

1. Average Weekly Placement Fee by Children's Home Size

2. The average weekly fee paid for children's residential placements, broken down by the registered capacity of the children's home:

a) Home Size (Registered Beds)

b) Average Weekly Fee Paid (£)

c) 1-bed home

d) 2-bed home

e) 3-bed home

f) 4-bed home

g) 5-bed home

h) 6-bed home

Definitions

For the purposes of this request:

Please include placements commissioned in Ofsted-registered children's homes only.

Please calculate the average based on the weekly fee actually paid by the local authority.

Where a placement includes additional funding (e.g. enhanced staffing, education, therapy or complex needs uplifts), please include these costs within the average fee if they form part of the placement cost.

If your authority records capacity differently, please use the home's registered bed capacity as recorded by Ofsted or your commissioning records.

3. Additional Information (if available)

If readily available without exceeding cost limits, please also provide:

a) The number of placements used within each home size category.

b) The highest weekly fee paid within each category.

c) The lowest weekly fee paid within each category.

d) Whether the figures relate to internal provision, external provision, or a combination of both.

I would prefer to receive the information in Excel or CSV format where possible.

1. Lincolnshire County Council are not able to provide average weekly placement fee by Children’s Home Size as we do not hold that level of information.

The average weekly placement fee for children’s commissioned residential placements as at 31st March 2026 across all packages and homes was £7,491.
