Proposal to purchase land off Market Rasen Rd for use as allotments and off-road cycling (pedal bikes)

The Parish Council are proposing to purchase land at the end of Market Rasen Road, next to the Pinfold.   This is in response to a number of requests from residents for village allotments or as they are also known Community Growing Spaces, which would provide the opportunity to grow fruit, vegetables and other plants either individually or as a community activity.

We have also been approached by several enthusiastic young cyclists from the village requesting limited space for their off-road activities (on pedal bikes).  This facility could be provided in the same area as the allotments.

To purchase the land and to start the maintenance works  the Parish Council are looking to borrow £60K from the Public Works Loan Board.  This has been carefully considered, and the repayments will be covered by income already generated by the council;  there will be no further cost to residents.

We are therefore consulting with you, the residents, and would appreciate as many people as possible completing a short survey to gauge support of this project.

A link to the survey is provided below.  It can also be found on our Facebook page.

The more people that complete the survey to show their support, the more likely it is to go ahead and provide this space for increased community amenities.
