Report a highway obstruction problem

We have a duty to prevent, as far as possible the obstruction of public highways.

Sometimes the highway can become obstructed by fallen branches, trees or other objects following high winds. In those circumstances, we will attend within 24 hours to remove the obstruction.

We will also attend within 24 hours if there is a fuel spillage or other hazardous material on the highway.

Roads, paths and verges can become obstructed by goods, materials, advertisements, stones and a variety of other things placed within the highway.

It is an offence to wilfully obstruct the highway. Where the obstruction causes a significant danger or nuisance to users of the highway we will take enforcement action.

If your fault presents an immediate danger outside of our normal hours, call the police on 101.
